Infographic: Residential Rehab vs Short-term Detox

This infographic examines the strengths and weaknesses of residential rehab vs short-term detox in the treatment of substance abuse. The bar graphs within pull their data from the Society for the Study of Addiction and the American Psychological Association. The first graph demonstrates how residential rehabs are much more effective than short-term detox for the treatment of meth addiction. The second graph illustrates a substantial increase in the long-term effectiveness of residential rehab over outpatient suboxone therapy for opiate addicts. The final graph makes the point that residential drug treatment dramatically reduces future criminal activity while outpatient drug treatment shows no effect on this metric whatsoever.
