Our Unique Addiction & Mental Health Recovery Programs

Our drug rehab in Lake Worth, FL, offers various types of addiction treatment programs and mental health services, each of which is designed to aid a particular group of individuals to achieve their long-term recovery goals. You can learn more about each of them below.

First Responders

Our first responder addiction treatment program is designed to help individuals like law enforcement officers, paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters. First responders take huge risks daily, responding to major crises like accidents, natural disasters, and terrorism. As a result, these dedicated individuals are often exposed to many tragedies and trauma, as well as the pressure to cope.

In addition to stressors at work, they may also face typical stressors at home, all of which can pile up to a too-high-to-manage heap. For these reasons, substance abuse, family dysfunction, depression, and suicide are highly prevalent among this group. Due to the unique circumstances of their job, it can be difficult to open up to others about their struggles and reach out for help.

That’s why BHOPB created a treatment program for first responders that offers mental health and addiction care to aid in their recovery. This program offers medical detox, psychotherapy, counseling, family therapy, and more.

Military

In addition to first responders’ care, we also offer military and veterans addiction and mental health services. Similar to first responders, many veterans have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mental illness, and substance use disorders because of the trauma and combat exposure they’ve faced. As a result, just any treatment program won’t do for these unique individuals.

As a way of giving back to the hardworking men and women that have fought for our nation, BHOPB created a program for veterans and military service members to aid them in their recovery from mental health and drug use disorders. Some features of this program include medical detox, inpatient treatment, and counseling.

Executives

Executives or business professionals often struggle with drug and alcohol use disorders, partly due to the high income they earn and also because of the many pressures they’re under at work. Many of these individuals work well over 40 hours a week, which can take a toll on anyone’s physical and mental health.

For executives, there’s always a project to manage, deadlines to meet, clients to please, and goals to surpass. After a while, this way of life can become demanding. As a way of coping with these stressors or keeping themselves performing at a high rate at work, these professionals may turn to drugs and alcohol.

Again, we honor individuality as well as quality, discretion, and comfort at our Palm Beach rehab. If you or a loved one can benefit from our rehab program for executives, rest assured that your safety and privacy are our priorities.

Domestic Violence and Addiction

Domestic violence is intentional physical, emotional, or sexual injury inflicted on one member of a household by another. This can occur between romantic partners, parents and children, or even siblings. Incidents of domestic violence can either be singular or continuous, although most cases consist of multiple incidents.
Most commonly, cases of domestic violence involve men abusing women and adults abusing elderly relatives. Violent acts that may constitute domestic violence include:

  • Verbal, emotional, and physical intimidation
  • Destruction of the victim’s possessions
  • Maiming or killing pets
  • Threats
  • Forced sex
  • Physical harm like slapping, punching, kicking, choking, burning, stabbing, and shooting
  • Killing victims

Alcohol is often involved in cases of domestic violence. In fact, one study found that about 40 percent of children from violent homes believed their fathers had a drinking problem and were more abusive when drinking. Studies also found that 50% of batterers were believed to have had drug or alcohol addiction problems.

Furthermore, many individuals who experience trauma like domestic violence also turn to drink or drugs to numb their physical and psychological struggles. Not only could our domestic violence and addiction treatment services help victims, but also offenders.

Drug-Free Pain Management

Most of us are used to taking medication the moment we get a headache or backache. It’s normal. But long-term and frequent use of painkillers can lead to increased tolerance, making them less effective over time. A person who takes pain medication regularly is less likely to feel relief with a normal dose, they might begin to take higher doses to feel the desired effect.

What most people don’t realize is that there are ways to manage pain without drugs, and abuse of opioids or prescription painkillers can actually make your pain worse. This is known as opioid-induced hyperalgesia, a condition in which long-term narcotic use reduces your body’s ability to tolerate pain and increases its sensitivity to it.

Unfortunately, this condition often convinces people that they need to use more painkillers. As a result, the condition acts as a catalyst for the cycle of pain pill abuse. To help individuals who have fallen into this cycle, our facility offers drug-free pain management.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Among our mental health residential programs is our dual diagnosis treatment. A dual diagnosis, or co-occurring disorder, refers to addiction and mental illness that occur simultaneously. For instance, an individual with an alcohol use disorder and clinical depression may be diagnosed with a co-occurring disorder.

While these conditions occur together, they need to be addressed individually for the person to recover and see real progress in their overall health. For this reason, our unique mental health and addiction treatment programs include dual diagnosis care.

Internet Addiction Treatment

With the continuous advancements in technology, the internet, and social media seen in the last decade alone, it’s no wonder that internet use has become compulsive and unhealthy for many people. More and more people are struggling with internet addiction.

Individuals with internet addictions may become so involved in internet use that they may isolate themselves from loved ones, perform poorly at school or work, lose their relationships, suffer malnutrition, and more. Considering how complex this disorder is, in-depth treatment is required to help those diagnosed with it. Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches offers internet addiction treatment to help people in this unique group recover from chronic and unhealthy internet use and regain their physical and mental health.

BHOPB is dedicated to helping as many people recover from addictions and mental health disorders as possible. For more information about our unique programs and therapies, contact BHOPB today.
