Residential treatment is often the next step in the addiction recovery process once a patient has completed medically monitored detox. Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, in Lake Worth, Florida, offers residential treatment on the same campus as our medically monitored detox program, so that patients may progress to a lower level of care with minimal disruption.
What to Expect During Residential Addiction Treatment
While participating in residential treatment in Palm Beach, patients always remain at our facility and receive access to the same around-the-clock medical supervision offered during detox. It is through this process that patients are able to delve deeper into what has brought them to treatment, and more intensive therapy begins. At Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches residential treatment program, we are equipped to treat patients who struggle with co-occurring, or dual-diagnosis, disorders. While at our residential treatment program, patients have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Lake Worth drug treatment programs such as:
- Individual Therapy
- Group Therapy Sessions
- Art Therapy
- Spirituality Training
- Recreation Therapy
- Music Therapy
- EMDR Specialists
- Introduction to 12 Step programs
While at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches’ residential drug and alcohol treatment program, patients have access to the on-site pool, yoga workshops, spirituality training, sand volleyball, a personal trainer, nutritionists, and an outdoor workout area. Meals are prepared by a culinary team and served three times a day in the cafeteria, and recovery meetings take place on premises nightly. Behavioral Health Technicians are on-site 24 hours a day to ensure our patients’ safety and well-being. This around-the-clock support and supervision are crucial in the early stages of sobriety; there will never be a time when a patient is unable to speak with someone to aid in their care.
Our Palm Beach based residential treatment for drug and alcohol addiction provides an ideal environment for patients to separate themselves from all outside distractions, triggers, and temptations in early recovery. Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches is a closed campus, meaning that it has gated entry. Only authorized personnel are granted access to the grounds and patients are kept separate from the outside community so that they may truly focus on their treatment goals. Cellphones and laptops are not allowed during this phase of treatment. We work with each individual to create a customized treatment plan, as no two patients are the same. Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches’ facility is located in what used to be a hotel, and therefore patients live in a communal campus setting. They are housed in two-patient bedrooms, each of which has its own bathroom and flat-screen television.
During this phase of treatment, groups are often centered on emotional processing and regulation, developing healthy coping techniques and communication, and education on relapse prevention. Residential drug and alcohol treatment prepares patients for further lower levels of care, such as Partial Hospitalization Programming, also available at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches. We believe in offering this continuum to better improve our patients’ chances for success upon discharge.
