Inspiring Tales of Addiction Recovery from Victims Turned Healers

Florida substance abuse treatment facility, Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches has recently unveiled a gripping and inspirational campaign in which select members of their current staff tell their stories of addiction and recovery. “Hope Stories” is a series of candid interviews with Behavioral Health employees, including former NFL football player Randy Grimes, describing the dark days of their addictions and how he gathered the strength and personal motivation to enter treatment, get clean and help others fight their dependency on drugs and alcohol. Conceived and executed with the help of New Jersey advertising agency, Mary Pomerantz Advertising, “Hope Stories” has a common element of hope and strength in the face of despair that can be felt in each interview.

The campaign will span national television, Internet, and social media and aims to help those who are hiding in the shadows, afraid and embarrassed to talk about their substance abuse issues open up and seek the help they need. “I don’t think there’s shame in sharing your story or your experience, strength and hope to help other people. And that’s what I’m here to do. I’m here to help other people and save other lives,” says Tori Hodge, Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches Clinical Coordinator and interview subject. Tori and her fellow participants have all battled their own demons, and discuss with candor and honesty their journey toward recovery. The ads are a must-see for anyone who thinks they’re too old or disadvantaged to seek professional treatment for their drug or alcohol addiction.

“Hope Stories” launched on June 19, 2012 and illustrates the personal struggle that even some of the senior-most staff at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches had experienced before turning their lives around and becoming dedicated addiction care and mental health experts.
