Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches Launches Web-based TV Series, ‘Recovery TV Live’

On February 7, 2014, South Florida addiction care organization, Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches launched the first installment of their new series, Recovery TV Live, a web-based television show discussing important issues in addiction recovery and mental health.  The show features the first-hand accounts and testimonials from individuals successfully recovering from addiction and mental illness, as well as insights from addiction care and mental health experts.

The inaugural episode of Recovery TV Live focuses on heroin abuse and features heroin addiction survivor, Pat Quinn who opened up about his descent into chemical dependency; the damage that it caused within his own life; and his journey toward recovery. The episode also discussed heroin addiction’s strong presence in communities across the country, as well as the role of family in their loved one’s recovery and the behavioral pathology of substance abuse and chemical dependency.

Recovery TV live will air one episode per month, with upcoming episodes focusing on various mental health-related topics, including eating disorder and sex addiction. The series will be hosted by Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer and current BHOPB interventionist, Randy Grimes and current BHOPB Executive Director, Tammy Malloy. It will also offer insight as to what can be done to prevent and address addiction at community and family level. “We’re hoping that Recovery TV Live will shed some light on the continuing addiction and mental health crisis in the country and let sufferers as well as their loved ones know that there is hope for recovery,” says Grimes.
