Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches Co-Sponsors Northeast Conference on Behavioral Health Addictive Disorders

On September 12-15, 2012, BHOPB will be co-sponsoring an all-new conference on behavioral addictive disorders in New Brunswick, NJ in association with the Governors Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA). The conference will highlight and discuss the relationship between trauma and addictive disorders and how they impact victims\’ daily lives and their interactions and long-term relationships with people.

There will be four days of discussions and lectures by some of the most respected and experienced professionals in the addiction care and psychiatric fields, as well as plenty of opportunity to learn new and innovative techniques in addressing trauma-induced addiction at the clinical level. Main topics of the conference will include: The Brain, Neuroscience and Therapy, Complex Trauma and PSD, Relationships, Loneliness and Gender Issues, Co-Occurring Disorders, Prescription Drug Abuse, and Anxiety and Depression.
