Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches also known as the Center for Alcohol & Drug Studies is one of the nation’s leading behavioral health care organizations. Located in South Florida, Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches offers expert treatment, support, advocacy and assistance to patients suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. We specialize in the treatment of co-occurring disorders, and develop our cutting-edge treatment programs using evidence-based best practices.
Using a holistic approach to treatment, we work to identify and address the underlying disorders that have contributed to patients’ substance abuse, and treat each condition simultaneously. We firmly believe that this is the best way for patients to heal on all levels. Our diverse and specialized treatment offerings ensure quality care for each individual patient.
Our History
Since we began, we have grown from a 12-bed program to a leading behavioral health care organization, offering a full continuum of care to over 200 patients at a time. We continue to grow and offer newer and more innovative care options to our patient population. Despite these changes, we have not and will never waiver from our philosophy of treating the whole patient – and not just the symptoms of addiction.

Our Founder
Our founder Donald Mullaney’s vision of comprehensive addiction and mental health recovery has helped to improve the lives of thousands of patients. His extensive research and commitment to superior care has formed the foundation on which BHOPB treats our patients. Because of his efforts, patients have access to increased individualization of treatment and higher-quality programs.

We offer world-class, industry-leading doctors and therapists; experienced and committed nurses and ARNP’s; and a full roster of qualified support staff. Our Research Department
Comprised of accomplished and published mental health experts, our research department plays a large role in the development of our specialized programs. This has helped us to make new innovations in treatment based on evidence-based best practices. Our research professionals have been recognized worldwide for contributions to behavioral health care.
Reference Library
We offer a full inventory of educational and motivational recovery literature for patients to examine in our reference library. The library offers a casual and social atmosphere in which patients can connect with one another and gain access to a large collection of informational resources on how to stay successful in recovery.
Our programs are licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families and accredited by the Joint Commission.
