Infographic: Detox From Suboxone

Drawing upon research conducted by the University of California San Francisco, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the drugfree.org website – this infographic explores the complicated role that suboxone plays in addiction and treatment. Introduced as a prescription drug to help addicts cope with the withdrawal symptoms of quitting opiates, suboxone has also become a new source of addiction for many individuals who now require a detox from suboxone as well. This infographic states that 190,000 people have already been prescribed suboxone, making the scope of this potential problem enormous. In addition, the data presented in this infographic makes it clear that a black market for suboxone has already been created, with seizures of suboxone in police raids rising from 90 in 2003 to 10,500 in 2010.
