NJ Drug Abuse Task Force invites BHOPB’s Dr. Louis Baxter to offer testimony as a leading authority on opiate addiction treatment (8/29/2012)

The Governor’s Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse in NJ, recognizing Dr. Louis Baxter from Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches as one of the leading authorities on opiate addiction in the country, has asked Dr. Baxter to offer his expert testimony and valuable insight regarding the growing painkiller epidemic affecting adolescents and young adults.

Also joining Dr. Louis Baxter in providing testimony is BHOPB’s Randy Grimes, ex-NFL lineman for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who will speak about the growing problem around our country of prescription painkillers in sports at any level. Randy Grimes will speak from his own personal experience and try to make the council aware that anyone who plays sports, recreationally or professionally, regardless of age, and takes prescription painkillers for a sports related injury could easily develop a pain medication addiction as a result.
