Infographic: Young Adult Alcohol and Drug Treatment

This infographic, based upon research from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, stresses the critical need for young adult alcohol and drug treatment due to the high levels of drug and alcohol abuse among young people in the US. According to this data, in the last month over 20% of adults aged 18-25 have used illicit drugs, and almost 40% of these young adults have engaged in binge drinking. It also highlights the growing problem of Adderall abuse among college students. It closes by comparing the success rates of residential rehabs (29%) with outpatient treatment (17%) in treating young people with opiate addictions.
