BHOPB’s Paul Fletcher Story in Phillies Magazine

Turning Tragedy into Triumph

For nearly two decades, Paul Fletcher’s life was controlled by alcoholism. The former professional baseball player, who recently celebrated two years’ of sobriety in April, developed a severe drinking problem following his days as a relief pitcher with the Philadelphia Phillies. His wife divorced him, he attempted suicide and he was spiraling out of control until his sister stepped in and called the Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T.).

With his life in shambles, he entered Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches and received life-changing and potentially life-saving addiction treatment. He is now sober and works full time at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches and has dedicated his life to helping others succeed in recovery. His story of resilience and perseverance can be a source of inspiration to us all.
