Many people believe that the foundation of treatment begins with some kind of spirituality and that it is a key component to successful recovery from alcoholism and chemical dependency. Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches' Spiritual Recovery program is based on respect, acceptance, and tolerance; every month we treat a diverse patient population that reflect all religious denominations, as well as those who are agnostic or atheist. The message to everyone is that they are loved and they can all live a spiritual life based upon being positive and creative.

Spirituality has found a good home here at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches and we have created many different tracks for all the major US religions including: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches' spiritual recovery team is made up of Father Vincent DiPasquale, Rabbi Nahum Simon, Rev Don Earhart and Imam Jory Kareem.

This gives an opportunity for patients to apply their faith during their respective treatment programs that are based on the Twelve Step principles for recovery. These “faith tracks” are an added feature to the spiritual recovery program that we established here at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches for all of our patients.

Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches is very fortunate to have Father Vince DiPasquale who is a noted lecturer and educator and active in the field of addiction for the past thirty-one years. He is also the co-founder and director of The Starting Point Inc. The Starting Point is an out-patient counseling center specializing in the area of dependencies and functions as a support system for an individual’s personal growth.

Father Vince was born and raised in South Camden, NJ. He was ordained a priest in 1966 and served in the Camden Diocese for twenty years. Thirty-one years ago he founded The Starting Point in South Philadelphia while he was a priest. His own growth as a person can be attributed to The Starting Point.

Father Vince has lectured nationally on issues surrounding all types of addictions and addictive relationships. Father Vince is best known for his expertise in identifying the role of family in the origin of codependency and its treatment using the six stages of recovery program for codependency. He also specializes in the cause and treatment for addiction relating to grief, loss and separation.

He has appeared as a guest on radio and TV broadcasts and made appearances on national cable networks. Father Vince has recorded for distribution, numerous CD's of lectures on topics such as spirituality, addiction and co-dependence. He is also the published author of “Relationships – The Gifts of Life” and “Learn to Value Your Childhood – Your History is Your Teacher”.

Father Vince, with his friendly manner and down-to-earth lectures has assisted many to enter a new sense of awareness and come to realize and accept that the power to initiate change comes from within. While sharing his own spiritual and emotional growth as part of the healing process with patients who are in our spiritual recovery program here at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, his focus is always on building patient's self-esteem and allowing old fears and behaviors to make way for a new and fulfilling life that is free from past addictions.
