The Trauma Program at BHOPB offers effective trauma resolution through a variety of clinical interventions including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. This state of the art technique has proven a very successful tool for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other trauma related conditions.

Anger Management Program

Participants learn how to cope with internal and external emotional conflict. Angry, hostile feelings can often be triggers for substance abuse. In group and individual counseling, participants learn the tools for acquiring greater self-awareness to use to manage their anger.

The Life Stress Management Program here at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches is designed to develop new strategies and mechanisms for reducing anxiety. By implementing useful effective tools such as medication, mindfulness and breath work, our clients change the way the deal with the issues in their life.

Young Adults Program
Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches feels is essential to have a special program for clients 18 to 24 years old. Growing up in today’s world has never been more difficult. There is more peer pressure to use drug s and alcohol than ever before. Patients between the ages of 18 and 24 are automatically enrolled in our young adult program. This program is designed to deal with the issues facing people in this special age group. The rights ofpassage inherent in this stage of life are addressed in small and individual counseling sessions. This program provides a caring atmosphere for young adults to share, learn and grow together. The young adult program allows for people in this age group to relate to other clients stories. This powerful technique of sharing helps these special people to relate better to their own concerns. |

Impaired Healthcare Professionals

Healthcare professionals suffering from dependency issues and behavioral disorders require very specialized treatment. This program is directed by a licensed professional in addiction medicine. The first step is a comprehensive assessment and evaluation. Based on the results, an individualized treatment plan is formulated. Licensing concerns and state board requirements are administered in detail. Participants in our Impaired Healthcare Professional's Program can expect to return to practice with complete confidence and in recovery. Confidentiality is absolute.

Public Safety
Perhaps the most stressful career in the world is in the field of law enforcement and public safety and can lead to using drugs or alcohol to cope. Here at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, these public servants are treated with special care and concern for their unique issues and job pressures. This program is designed specifically for police and fireman. A twenty-five year public safety veteran facilitates our Safety Officer's Program. Public safety officers respond best to treatment with those who have shared their common experiences. Our clinical team provides a highly developed recovery program designed to address the unique requirements of Public Safety Officers. Treatment methods include PTSD therapy, guilt and shame resolution, anger management and coping with violence workshops. Participants meet in separate peer groups and have individual sessions with personal therapists.
