Florida Inpatient Mental Health Treatment

Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches is home to inpatient mental health treatment, which is part of what makes our facility so unique. Ours is one of the few mental health residential facilities in Florida able to accept patients who struggle with primary or standalone mental health disorders, meaning a patient does not need issues with substance use to be admitted. Our inpatient mental health care specializes in treating various mood and thought disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorders, trauma, grief and loss issues, self-harm behavior, adjustment and attachment disorders, and more. Keep reading to learn how our residential program works and how we can help you or a loved one recover.

What Is Residential Mental Health Treatment?

Residential or inpatient mental health treatment is a form of care in which clients reside at the treatment center. Here they receive constant support from specialized doctors, therapists, and other mental health experts while receiving treatment. Residential care is one of the most intensive levels of care, as staff members are available 24/7.

Inpatient care is best suited for individuals with severe mental health disorders. However, our inpatient mental health treatment is much more comfortable than treatment requiring hospitalization. The environment is peacefully homelike, unlike the busy chaos that is common in a hospital wing.

Residential mental health facilities in Florida, like our Lake Worth drug rehab, focus on the holistic approach to healing and provide the time needed to do so. These facilities offer a variety of services, including:

  • Medication management
  • Treatment planning
  • Individual and group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Recreational activities and amenities
  • Educational services
  • Psychological testing and evaluation

Banyan Lake Worth Mental Health Residential Treatment

Our inpatient mental health treatment in Lake Worth is designed to offer continued care after a patient has been stabilized in a more acute setting, such as a psychiatric hospital. It is important to note that this program is not in a hospital setting. Patients do reside at our Florida rehab full-time with access to medical and nursing care around-the-clock, with trained mental health behavioral health technicians on staff to ensure patient safety and comfort, but in a more open campus.

There is also a Psychiatrist/MD on staff at the facility full-time, five days a week, and AANP/AANCs on staff seven days a week. This means there is never a time when a patient will not have access to these services.

Clinicians at BHOPB’s inpatient mental health facility specialize in a wide variety of therapeutic techniques and specialties, as no two patients are the same. We employ only the best methods to help each patient as an individual. These techniques and therapy programs include:

  • Anger Management
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Coping Skills
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Emotional Regulation
  • Family Dynamics
  • Goal Setting
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Mindfulness Practices
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Nutrition & Self-Care
  • And more

At Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, we understand that reintegration into everyday life after treatment is crucial to our patients. We differ from acute psychiatric units in this way, as we provide patients with opportunities to engage in both on-site and off-site activities for recreation and fun. These opportunities and activities include:

  • 12Step Recovery meetings
  • Art Therapy
  • Bowling
  • Game Nights
  • Meditation Walks
  • Movies
  • Music Therapy
  • Religious Services
  • Table Tennis
  • Visits to the local park
  • Visits to the manatee lagoon

*All outings are subject to clinical approval

The main goal of our inpatient mental health program is to help prepare patients for life outside of treatment. While mental health disorders may be chronic and lifelong, they can be effectively managed and treated by seeking professional care and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Our BHOPB rehab center supports patients in need of mental health care and dual diagnosis treatment. Patients are encouraged and coached to develop healthy adult living skills and responsibilities while in our care, such as housekeeping and laundry.

As chronic mental health disorders cannot be “cured,” we ensure that each individual who comes through our doors is matched with the most appropriate aftercare post-discharge. We work with a network of over 1,000 providers nationwide so we can connect each patient with a doctor, therapist, or level of continued care that best meets their needs upon discharge from our residential mental health treatment program.
