Family Addiction Education & Support Group

The Family Education and Support Group is open to the families and significant others of all current and former patients of Behavioral Health of The Palm Beaches. This includes Detox, 509, CADS, Seaside and Lake Worth.

Friends & Family Members

The substance user may be sober or active, in or out of treatment. This group is intended to assist friends and family members who are impacted by someone else’s substance use. Participants will learn coping skills and options. However, unlike Al-Anon, the Family Addiction Education Group is topic oriented and directed by a trained facilitator. It is intended to address specific concerns that family members frequently voice regarding their loved one’s substance use and/or recovery. This group is intended to compliment the efforts of residential treatment and “The Family Week Program.”

Participants will learn to increase communication with the addict/alcoholic, that they are not alone, how to set healthy boundaries, and how to let go with love.

The meetings are held every Wednesday night from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at BHOPB 509 Federal Hwy. Lake Park, Florida. There is no charge. For further information you may call Mary Stanley at BHOPB (561) 966-5120 ext 204.
